Good night routine....

Ok so I'm not that big on routine. I like to just play it how it goes, but when it comes to nap and bedtime I like to stick to a routine. So ever since we've been back from our trip we've picked up a couple new things to our bed time routine......

All of us go and sit on Aspen's bed and read to a couple of books. Then I take Irelynn into her room put her jams on while she drinks a quick 2 oz bottle and daddy reads Aspen one more book. Then Daddy puts on our new lullaby song and puts it on loud enough for us to hear in Irelynn's room too. It's called "Godspeed" by the Dixie Chicks. I don't know what it is about this song but it's so calming and seems to just settle down the girls so well.... Tonight as I'm rocking Irelynn and the song is playing I hear Dallas in the other room singing to Aspen.... I couldn't help it, tears just started falling down my face. Dallas is such a sweet daddy to our girls and we are so lucky to have him as the man in our lives.... After laying Irelynn down(almost asleep) I go into give Aspen a kiss, she looks at me and says "Mommy sleep with chu". I tell her that I can't and she say "ok daddy will".... And as I'm writing this, Daddy and Aspen are having sweet dreams together in her bed! Oh the joys of being a parent!! Life really doesn't get better then this!

Here's the lyrics to our new bedtime lullaby

Dragon tales and the "water is wide"
Pirate's sail and lost boys fly
Fish bite moonbeams every night
And I love you

Godspeed, little man
Sweet dreams, little man
Oh my love will fly to you each night on angels wings
Godspeed
Sweet dreams

The rocket racer's all tuckered out
Superman's in pajamas on the couch
Goodnight moon, will find the mouse
And I love you

Godspeed, little man
Sweet dreams, little man
Oh my love will fly to you each night on angels wings
Godspeed
Sweet dreams

God bless mommy and match box cars
God bless dad and thanks for the stars
God hears "Amen," wherever we are
And I love you

Godspeed, little man
Sweet dreams, little man
Oh my love will fly to you each night on angels wings
Godspeed
Godspeed
Godspeed
Sweet dreams

Please share your bedtime routines..... I'd love to here them!!!!

Pay it forward...

Pay It Forward...So, here’s how it works: the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, some homemade goodies from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well. Before you leave your comment, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going (or copy and paste like I did). Then come back, let me know you’re going to play and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your goodies! Please submit in an e-mail or on the comment, your address, if I don’t have it already. Remember that only the first 3 comments will receive a gift from me, so be quick! Have fun!

A trip to the Library...

Yesterday I took the girls to the library. So the night before I told Aspen that she could pick out any 5 books that she wanted, we could take them home for a couple days, then bring them back and pick out 5 more books. She was so excited! When she woke up the first thing that she said was " are we going to the library now".

She picked out 5 books!

We've read them all a handful of times. Looks like the Library is going to be a regular visit for us. Every Tuesday and Thursday they have tots story time. Aspen Can't wait to go! Let me know if you might want to join us sometime.

SUSHI ANYONE????

Well April posted a thing about seaweed the other day and it totally made me in the mood for sushi. Dallas ans I have been wanting to roll our own sushi for a while now. So last night when I forgot to get out the pork chops to defrost, I decided to go to the store and get stuff to make sushi. After getting everything and realizing that it would have just been cheaper to just to out and eat. I came home and surprised Dallas. He was way excited (he's been on this chief kick lately)! We had tons of fun! But all in all I think that we might need a little more practice! It's not as easy as it looks! But it sure did taste good!!!

Proud Momma!!!

Aspen has swimming lessons every Thursday and I must say that today's lesson was a hard one to watch. Every couple of weeks the owner of the swim school comes and makes sure that her teacher is doing a good job. Then for the last part of the lesson she takes Aspen and does some "aggressive" ways of teaching to help push the kids to become perfect little swimmers!!! As bad as this sounds it really works and is a good method in keeping the kids learning new things and advancing on to harder swimming techniques. Aspen always leaves wanting more and really enjoys her lessons. Sometimes it's just hard for me to watch.

This after noon Aspen asked me if we could go out for a walk. How could I resist it's the nicest day we have had since we've been back and I'm carving the sun so bad right now! So I put the babes in the stroller and took them on a nice little walk around to block! MAN I CAN"T WAIT FOR SUMMER!!! I hate keeping the babes locked up inside all the time!!

VALENTINES

So on Valentines morning Aspen and I made heart shape cupcakes with pink frosting and pink sugar on top. Then Made a big breakfast for daddy!! After that we went and delivered the cupcakes and Valentines to Aunts, Uncles and Cousins!! All in all it was a pretty mellow Valentines!

*8* months and on the move...

Irelynn turned 8 months last Friday!!! For about a month now I have been worried that I was going to miss the first time she crawled because Aspen Crawled on her 8 month birthday I knew that Irelynn wasn't going to be far away, and Yes Irelynn took her first little crawl on her 8 month birthday. Although she has not mastered it quite yet she is now crawling all over!!! Where have these past 8 months gone???

Circus Circus...

Tonight we took the kiddos to the Jordan Circus. Aspen LOVES elephants!! They had some pretty good talent acts and some sweet animal tricks like, tigers jumping through fire, poodles dancing, and elephants you could pay $10 a kid to ride (don't worry we didn't let them)!!! This is our second year going to this circus. It's a nice local one thats not to expensive.

I think she looks so old in this picture... Our baby is growing up so fast!

A couple of weeks ago I took the kids to Discovery Gateway! Aspen was in heaven! I heard it's hit or miss there as far as the crowds and I guess we hit it on a good day. There was so many thing that Aspen was into and so many "friends" that she could play with. It was a nice outing and would like to hit it one more time this winter if any one is in!

SLEDDING!!!!!!

Saturday we took the kids sledding! Along with Dustin and Kohen, Kelsey and Rylee!! The kids had a blast. As for us it was more like a work out, pulling them back up the hill! They even thought it would be fun to just roll down the hill. After a couple hours and an accident in all of Aspens snow clothes I think we all had about as much as we could take for a day. All in all I think next time we will go somewhere where we can take the snow mobiles and get up the hill that way! Maybe even a portable potty!!!

Playing with the GIRL cousins....

Aspen loves playing with kids. Everyday when she wakes up she says " where are my friend momma? Can I play with my friends today?" Over the past couple weeks we have been playing with my cousins Christa's girls. It's nice having her play with girls sometimes, it's not so loud!!! They play more girly things like dolls, horsey rides, and even sit down quietly and watch movies. It's a nice time to sit and catch up with my cousin.
